Today's date is September 24th, 2012. As this is my first blog post, you should know a little bit more about me.
1. Name: Melody Jade
2. Occupation: Part time student, full time dreamer, aspiring writer. Actually, I'm currently writing a novel (Kylie, I Love You). Contact me if you'd like to take it for a test drive!
3. Location: Arlington, Virginia, USA. Or Australia (I wish).
4. Addictions: Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Dancing with the Stars (all my D shows), KYLIE MINOGUE!!!
Okay, I'm sick of answering self-issued questions about myself. It's the beginning of the school year, what can I say? All the teachers want to know. You guys get to know me a little more personally.
What's going on in my life NOW, you ask? Now there's something I'm always happy to answer.
At this exact point in time, I'm watching Dancing with the Stars. Kym Johnson and Pamela Anderson were hot hot HOT!! Yes, yes, I'm proudly bi and happy to admit the girls on this show are wayyyyy hotter than the guys. Especially Maks; he looks like a werewolf. My Aussies (Kym and Peta) are the sexiest creatures I have EVER seen, except for Min. And Karina's pretty hot too, for lack of a better word. And Anna. Way better than Cheryl and Chelsie. TEAM FATONE <333
Today, I learned how to set my alarm clock! How exciting! I really, honest to God, didn't have any idea how to do it before. I also purchased a free alarm clock app on my iPod. I'm counting on needing two alarms to wake me up tomorrow. Let me explain. Min (Kylie) is celebrating her 25th anniversary in the music business (cue insane cheers)! Because of that, on the 25th of every month, she's giving her lovers a very special surprise...but we have to "tweet to unlock". That means everyone gets online at a set time and, well, tweets to unlock the surprise. That set time is 9:00 GMT, which is equivalent to 4:00 EST. Yippee. So I have set my new alarms for 3:35 and 3:40, to give me a lot of time to roll out of bed and down to the computer. I'll be a student zombie tomorrow, but I could care less. If I can't pull it off this time, I've still got three more chances.
Now to my book. Yes, it is about Kylie Minogue, but that's not the point. I think you can still enjoy it if you aren't one of her super fans. This is the first draft of the inside jacket flappy thing:
You can't live in Australia without knowing who Kylie Minogue is. Or can you? For 48-year-old Dylan Chessie, that seems to be the case. Someone moves in next door to him, but he genuinely couldn't care less. He eats lunch with her, goes jogging with her, lives just a few metres away from her, and the fact that she's Kylie Minogue doesn't make any difference to him. One day, she lets him deeper into her life, and he begins to see her in a different light. What will happen next? With help from his best friend, Catherine; his late little sister, Talia; Kylie's family; and ten teenage girls from the mall, his life starts to change for the better. Though his and Kylie's relationship might hit some bumpy spots, they always stick to it. It just goes to prove that even the craziest of situations can turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you.
Please comment if you'd like to have a read. It won't be finished or typed up for a while, but I need to know who I have to read it, and therefore who I have to thank in the "Acknowledgements" section. Today's date is September 24th, and I'll back to continue über fangirling again soon.
