Today's date is September 26th, 2012. I got Where the Wild Roses Grow by Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave stuck in my head. It's a wonderful song, but it's freaking scary. I heard it/watched the music video for the first time last night, and honestly I think it's even scarier than Lady GaGa's Monster. Which is scary. Where the Wild Roses Grow is seriously a beautiful song, one that you wouldn't immediately associate with Kylie, but can you ever FULLY appreciate a song when it's stuck in your head? My friend Caroline asked me today if I had a pointy rock (with which to kill our math teacher, but that's beside the point), and I thought of the video right away. Haha. I suck.
I got my part in the play today! I'm playing Theseus, the Duke, who honestly has never been mentioned in class before. I'm cool with that, even though it's a dude's part. I think it's interesting that, according to Isabella, I only have parts in the beginning and in the end. That'll be nice too. I get to be married to Naomi, aka Egeus. She's not extremely attractive, just...eh. She's got cool hair, though. If I had to be married to someone in the class, it would be Nick, Caleb (not my dog, different person), Mesiah, Essi, Isabella, Sophia C, Sophia P, or...idk who else. There's a lot of nice looking girls in my class, what can I say? Isabella and Essi and I probably spent about half the lunch period picking through the cast list, deciding who would be good (NIA!!), and who would kill the person who got the part they wanted (Hazel), and who didn't like the part they got (Kamila, Isabella, and Dominique apparently). In fact, Dominique was extremely pissed that she got the part of Puck, which happens to be the part Hazel wanted. Dominque stormed down the hall cursing when she found out her part, but I think she's going to be pretty good...if she convinces herself that Puck is a good part.
My friend Megan gave me a letter today. It explained (once again) that she was sick of me and Caroline obsessing over Doctor Who. They had a pencil+paper fight today over names. Let me back up and make this make a little more sense. My name on email is Grace Amy Pond. I trademarked that...ish, but you know what I mean. Sooner or later, all the Whovians started picking names. Katie River Song. Maggie Donna Noble. Hazel Jackie Tyler (trust me, she didn't pick that herself). Megan thinks she should be Rose Tyler. She's all of our favorite companions. Megan has seen about 7 episodes of Doctor Who, only a handful of which even had Rose in them. Caroline thinks she should be Rose. I agreed with her. Me and Megan fell out over that last year, and I SO don't need a repeat of that. Megan said nasty things about me right before our Aladdin performance, so I got a lot of people not talking to me, and she got a lot of people not talking to her. It was pretty bad. But Caroline has seen every single episode of NewWho, so she deserves it way more. Megan wants to put an end to it before it even starts, I guess. She broke up with us, in a way. We want her back. Besides, if I've been fangirling about anything lately, it's Min. Not DW. That's all Caroline. So I don't know what to do. She's like my sister; even though I hate her sometimes, we need each other. We share birthdays, advanced math classes, and 77% of our schedules. I need advice.
Now to my Dannii birthday plans. I told you I'd tell you about them. First of all, I never would've had the desire to do this if it weren't for my good online friend Nicola Kirstie, @nicolakirstie_ or Twitter. By the way, I'm @heartheartkms on Twitter, but if you're reading my blog, youre probably already following me, seeing as that's the only place I've posted the link to this. Right. Birthday plans. So Nicola is currently making a video for Dannii's birthday, containing birthday messages from fans (including my friends Caroline, Katie, and Sachi). I'm glad I found that, because it was really a lot of fun to work on and to convince other people to do. So I'm now hosting a birthday party for Dannii, and I've invited Caroline, Katie, and Sachi, because they helped with the video. I know, I'm excluding Megan again, but with good reason this time. We will listen to Dannii Minogue music, eat Australian food (basically a barbecue, no Vegemite included, sorry folks), and do other stuff because we are awesome like that. It'll be a lot more fun than it sounds, trust me. These girls are my three best friends, and if I can't have a good time just sitting in a room with them, I don't know who can. I am super psyched about it, and I am soon going to send out an Evite for the first time!! I'm almost excited about the Evite as I am about the party. Lol ;) If you're a Dannii fan in Arlington, Virginia, who's also a 12 year old, well, tell me! Maybe I'll invite you!
Now, since I didn't get the chance
to tell you more about my book yesterday, I'll tell you more now! I'll try not to spoil too much, but it'll be hard! This is a shot summary of the first two chapters. Remember, this is only the first draft. I already know I have to change the beginnin for the second draft, but I won't say how. So...
In Chapter One, The Girl Next Door, there's no dialogue. It doesn't happen in real time. Dylan talks about Kylie. Only you dont actually find out she's Kylie until the very end of the chapter, but if you didn't know that already, you must be a total moron. He talks about how they live in Adelaide, and how she goes to visit
her family in Melbourne one weekend every month. How she stays up late every night and plays her songs very loudly, dancing to them, but not singing along because her vocal chords are damaged. How she sits outside, begging for attention, but how everyone's too scared to approach. Etc. I know that's never a good way to end a summary, but still.
In Chapter Two, Deeper, Kylie comes home from a visit with her family. She tells Dylan how she fell apart from hearing Dannii sing, because it was like she was taunting her. She tells how she threw an ice cube at Dannii, leaving a bruise on her forehead. It sounds lame, but try hitting someone in the head with an ice cube sometime. It hurts. Kylie can't understand what possessed her to do that, but Dylan's there to comfort her. They become a lot closer after that incidence, and end up going to dinner at the end of the chapter. Aw. Sweet <3
That's all I have to say for now. Or at least, all I have time to say. I'm technically supposed be off my iPod by 8:00...oh well. I'll post again tomorrow :) Today's date is September 26, and I hope you had as great of a day as I did!
