October 1

I changed the name of my website to Melody Jade: Asian American Kylie, but I still have the urge to do the "today's date" thing. Weird. Anyway, I think I have a cold. No, I know I have a cold. That's why, on Charlie McDonnell's birthday, I am sitting at home alone instead of at school celebrating with my friends. Ugh. If anyone reading this has a Twitter, do me a favor. I have a feeling I'm not going to have anything to talk about today, so I'll talk about yesterday. I was feeling so crappy yesterday I didn't even make a blog post. Ugh. Yesterday I did some baking. We were testing out the recipe for pumpkin cupcakes that we're going to make for Dannii's birthday party. They are delicious! A little flat, maybe, but delicious! The day before that, because I think I forgot to mention this, I made punch. Also a test for Dannii's birthday party. I was kind of skeptical about the recipe at first, because, in fact, I got it off of a math worksheet. It involved 1 3/4 c pineapple juice, 2 1/2 c orange juice, and 3 3/4 c 7 Up. Also a winner. My dad, a math teacher, says when he uses recipes on worksheets he makes them up. I feel bad for his students that go home and make a disgusting recipe. You can thank Ms. Parkhurst for this one.

Wow...I can't think of anything else to say. Usually I have a lot of news. I feel so boring. Uhh...

Okay. Politics. Why am I with Obama, you ask? If you didn't ask, that's too bad. You're going to hear about it anyway. The main reason I'm with Obama is because I'm a woman. I believe in being able to make choices for myself about my body. Mitt Romney wants to pass a law that outlaws all abortion, even in cases of rape and incest? If a girl has been raped, her life is probably already shitty as it is. She should be able to at least put her foot down and say, "I am not having this baby." And besides, if she does have the baby, and doesn't want to keep it (well, why would she?) who would adopt it? Who would want to adopt the baby of some disgusting, mental creep? And if the baby goes to an orphanage, you're not doing anyone a favor.

Another reason I'm with Obama is because of his lovely wife. Michelle Obama has done SO MUCH for kids across the country, to help keep them healthy. I like the fact that she's a full-time mom, and that being the president's wife hasn't changed that at all. Compared to Ann Romney, Mrs. Obama just seems like a genuinely good person. Whereas Ann Romney's been treated like some secret weapon. Not cool. Michelle Obama is a beautiful, stylish, amazing person and hopefully, if Obama doesn't get reelected, she'll continue to do stuff for America's kids. I know, I've only got two reasons to support Obama, but I've got zero reasons to support Romney. So there. I hope we have a mock election at school, that would be so fun :)

Oh, also, I don't think America needs another old white guy in the White House. I just don't. Sure, there have been some good old white guy presidents. But since Obama was elected, whether you admit it or not, something's changed inside all of us. Having a black man as president has shifter or concept of presidency, opening it up to anyone who wants it badly enough. We shouldn't go back. Personally, I think we need an Asian or woman president, but that's just me. I live in a community where diversity is accepted. I've never, in the history of my life, seen bullying because of race. We've got all kinds of people at my school. When I go out to Illinois, where my cousins live, I'm appalled at the sheer number of white people there are. Obama has made me see the world differently. Mitt Romwney will make me see the world in red.

Now, for some updates. I still haven't gotten my Kylie 2013 calendar, which was supposed to come in  mid-September. I preordered it, but I'm starting to wonder if it would be faster if I just ordered it again. Then again, my friend Leona (@LeonaNS1) from Serbia hasn't gotten hers either, and she's spoken to other who haven't either. I'm not as worried anymore. Now for my October. I'm planning on

1. Making sure Charlie McDonnell, Diana Makele, Dannii Minogue, and Nicola Kirstie (@nicolakirstie_) have great birthdays
2. Catching up on Doctor Who
3. Sending fanmail to Mary Murphy, Kelly Ripa, Sherri Shepherd, Gwen Stefani, and more
4. Getting unsick
5. Being a really sexy girl Puck/Oberon for Halloween
6. Begging for more Kylie merch (as always)
7. Having a really awesome Dannii birthday party
8. Actually talking to Sachi Cooper
9. Writing my book
10. Getting a tweet from Kylie or Dannii
